I love this easy turkey craft because it gets the kids outside and is fast, inexpensive, and easy to make! Let’s get into it.

Easy Turkey Thanksgiving Craft for Elementary Teachers

Supplies needed:

  • Leaves

  • Paper plate

  • Brown acrylic paint

  • Paper – orange, red

  • Googly eyes, large (or just cut out circles from white and black paper)

  • Scissors

  • Stapler (or tape)

  • Glue stick

Directions:

  1. Have students paint or color the paper plate (or buy brown/orange/yellow paper plates)

  2. Take a “field trip” outside to hunt for leaves. Each student will need 8-10 freshly fallen leaves (read: not too crunchy)

  3. Staple or tape the leaves to the top half of the turkey on the back side of the plate

  4. Attach googly eyes (or cut white and black circles to attach)

  5. Cut a red teardrop for the turkey gobbler.

  6. Cut a square of orange paper for the beak. Fold in half diagonally from corner to corner.

  7. Glue the gobbler down first and then on top glue one side of the orange square down so that the beak can open and close.

Ta da! You have a turkey :)
